Present Simple (A1 Grammar)
The Present Simple is used to talk about habits, routines, facts, and things that are generally true.
When do we use the Present Simple?
- Daily routines
- Habits
- Facts
- Things that are always or usually true
✓ I drink coffee every morning.
✓ She works in a bank.
✓ Water boils at 100°C.
Affirmative Sentences

Third Person Singular (-s)
For he, she, and it, add -s or -es to the verb.
play → plays
work → works
watch → watches
go → goes
Negative Sentences
Use do not (don't) or does not (doesn't).
I don't like coffee.
They don't work on Sundays.
She doesn't like pizza.
He doesn't play tennis.
Questions
Use Do or Does at the beginning of the sentence.
Do you speak English?
Do they live in London?
Does she work here?
Does he play football?
Common Mistakes
❌ He play football.
✅ He plays football.
❌ She doesn't likes pizza.
✅ She doesn't like pizza.
